The short version
This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics, carries no tracking pixels and shows no advertising. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for marketing.
Apart from the infrastructure needed to serve the website, one third-party service is worth calling out: the Book a call button takes you to a booking page run by Cal.com. That is described below.

When you visit this website
Hosting
The site is served from Amazon S3 and Amazon CloudFront, operated by Amazon Web Services. The origin bucket is in the EU (Ireland); CloudFront serves the files from the edge location nearest you. Your IP address is necessarily processed in order to route a response to your browser. We have not enabled access logging, so no request logs are retained by us.
Fonts
The Archivo typeface is served from this domain, not from Google Fonts. Loading the typeface does not make a request to Google or another font provider.
Cookies and storage
None. This site sets no cookies and writes nothing to your browser's local storage. There is nothing here for a cookie banner to ask you about.
When you book a call
The Book a call buttons open a booking page at cal.com/bergmen, operated by Cal.com, Inc. You leave this website at that point.
To book, you provide details such as your name, email address, your chosen time and any information you enter in response to our booking questions. We use this only to arrange and hold the call you asked for.
Bergmen is the controller for that information and Cal.com is our processor, acting on our instructions under their data processing agreement. Cal.com is a United States company and processes the data there. Their own policy is at cal.com/privacy.
A confirmed booking also creates a calendar entry and confirmation emails, so the booking details reach Google as described below.
When you email us
Email you send us is received and stored in Google Workspace. We keep correspondence so we can answer you and maintain a record of what was discussed. Google acts as our processor for this.
Our lawful bases
We rely on legitimate interests where we process personal data to operate and secure this website, respond to enquiries and communicate with prospective clients. Our legitimate interest is in running our business and answering people who contact us about our services.
Where you ask us to take steps towards entering into an agreement, we may instead rely on processing that is necessary at your request before entering into a contract.
You can object to processing based on legitimate interests at any time, using the contact details above.
Who your data reaches
These are the main third-party service providers we use in connection with this website and with enquiries. They may in turn use their own subprocessors, which their published policies describe. We do not sell personal data or share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Transfers outside the UK
Some of our service providers process personal data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we use an applicable UK adequacy mechanism or appropriate contractual safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep things
Enquiry correspondence and booking records are kept for 24 months from our last contact with you, and then deleted. If we go on to work together, records relating to the engagement are kept for the life of that engagement and for as long afterwards as tax and company law require.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to ask us for a copy of your personal data, and to have it corrected or erased, and to restrict or object to how we use it. Depending on the circumstances, you may also have the right to receive certain personal data in a portable form.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to address it first.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it.
